...Wearing Royal Rose Aoud by M. Micallef tonight. It's not the most original fragrance but it was the first rose oud I loved then bought all the way back in 2012 and it still holds a special place in my heart. Plus the bottle just adds to the opulent feel. I think it strikes a nice balance between powdery and fruity rose with just enough smooth oud to balance those aspects. Not a show stopper by any means but for me it just feels comfy and cozy.

...Any iteration of Chanel Bois des Îles Eau de Toilette (but especially the vintage EDT or parfum) is my favorite before all others. After that I agree I'd say any iteration of Guerlain Samsara Eau de Parfum, then Tom Ford Soleil de Feu, then Serge Lutens Santal de Mysore. Let's be real though, in case it's not obvious from what I've ranked above: the sandalwood material I love most (besides natural sandalwood) is Sandalore with Sandalore Polysantol mixes in coming second.

...For me, nothing compares to Profumum Roma Ambra Aurea. I'm not sure how to interpret your ask for something 'modern' but I guess maybe check out Ambre Nuit which is an amber but not super traditional.

I had the bodylotion in the past and actually found that nicer than the perfume. I always spray my vintage Aromatics Elixir on the back of my knees because it's so strong.

...Legit, when I'm feeling sick the only scent that makes me feel better at all is Vick's Vaporub. For me perfumes are no bueno if I'm ill and I avoid them at all costs so that I don't grow to associate them with it. I unfortunately got a stomach bug while I was wearing Amouage Lyric Woman Eau de Parfum over a decade ago and I have never been able to shake the association with nausea. 😔When I'm feeling worn out or blue I crave Aromatics Elixir Perfume and Coromandel Eau de Toilette. When I'm feeling anxious I crave Jersey Eau de Parfum or N°19 Poudré.

I'm taken back to my 1990s high school's gym locker room, where girls are trying to cover up their b.o. with some sugary floral concoction they picked up from the local KMart. I was promised tropical florals but I'm not getting them, at least not anytime soon.Hmmm, that's very evocative and I unfortunately also have those same memories. 😂
