...Dulcemio:I saw a woman and her teenage granddaughter out together for dinner the other night, just the two of them. In the course of 30 minutes they conversed for about 3 minutes. The rest of the time the girl was staring at her phone and texting. I felt so sad for that grandma. Yes, I see this sort of thing, every evening! As my sons run a Restaurant, on the ground floor of my home, I see them all sitting on the dining terraces, with their damn phones and ipads. Mind you, these are the younger gen., or teens. Thank goodness that the majority of the diners are more interested in their dinner plate, and conversation at the table. In most of the cafe bars in town, it seems there is no coffee chat anymore...just staring at the phone screens. :(

...I haven't written a review for a while now, and do miss it! It is not because i don't want to write any, but just have not have the time. I usually write my reviews during the winter when i'm not working, and can test my samples in peace. I prefer writting my reviews here, rather than on fragrantica, as there seems to be a much more positive vibe here, and feel much more in touch with the wonderful members here. I also enjoy reading all the greatl reviews that are written on here.

...Hurray ...my first spritz of perfume, and first glass of wine..this evening ..feeling dizzy and so happy that I am still able to do both! What a wonderful world...now I'm getting bloody carried away..hope I will be really better tomorrow.

...My first niche was an Annick Goutal...I was searching for the perfect vanilla fragrance, and paid a hell of a lot of money for a rather nice fragrance, but it didn't last more than 2 Hours, so was slightly miffed at niche, so to speak. Then I purchased the Andy Tauer discovery pack...I was blown away! I find his perfume exceptional ...not all of them, but the ones in my favorite groups. This is perfume made with quality ingredients...made with love, and a lot of thought goes into each fragrance. This is my idea of niche...a fragrance with depth..and personality....they are expensive..I haven't even got a full bottle yet ..stil saving..but it will be worth every penny. I am used to old school perfume...something that lasts..not some fruity sugar water scent. I have to say, I am getting more dissapointed with the watery versions of today..and the shameful reformulations...sorry..getting off track! :wink:

...I have been missing everyone!! Got home from my job, last Sunday, with a damn chest virus thing, and still am not right yet. Very weak, and no energy. A bit run down I think, after a hectic 3 months of work. Looking after the grand kids now, and helping by cooking lunches, so not much time for the lovely things in life...like fragrances!! Haven't worn any perfume for 10 days now...I have been thinking...perhaps too old for the old tourist job!!! (Till Sept., that is) :wink:

...I have been..thinking I need to buy a new perfume! I haven't got a clue as to what I want, (with the exception of a longing for Tauer), and I have been..thinking of trying some montale samples. I have never sampled a Montale yet....do I need too?? I am still working hard at the Hotel, so will wait till have some time, to think what would be good to try. ...Digindirt:I have been busy today. I took a friend to visit my 83 year old neighbor so they could talk about Vietnam and Korea. I bought groceries for the holiday, Porterhouse and Crab Legs. I visited my niece in law at the hospital - very sad situation. I went shopping for vintages and other fragrances. Now I am finally home with a boatload of work to do but I'm playing hooky from work, I'm getting paid to stay home today!That was very kind, and thoughtful of you! The elderly neighbor must have been so happy! Didn't you say that your niece in law, was in a coma? Was it an accident? Hope she improves soon. I will go and see your photo album now, and enjoy your well earned day off!!! :wink:

That won't happen with Homeland, because it's not as artistically done. However, it is EXTREMELY SUSPENSEFUL. I actually spend time between episodes attempting to predict what will happen next!!! :roll: Prison Break was the one I purchased the set of!! My husband would wake up in the early hours of the morning, and he would hear the theme song. He said he thought I was going mad...watching it nights, and early mornings! I really got addicted to that one). Next on my addiction list will probably be Downton Abby...as haven't seen any of those yet. Will have it downloaded to watch this coming winter...as don't work all winter, it will give me something to look forward to!!! :wink:

...Yes, I have been thinking of PansyLady too....as my husband was in Hospital for many months after his strokes. It is a very difficult and trying time. I have been recovering from my very hectic work weekend, and hoping this damn airline strike will end soon! I have been dreaming of buying a new fragrance.....but will have to choose carefully, as will order it from the UK to be brought here, in Sept., with one of my Saga guests. I will only be able to buy one, and have my heart set on my Andy Tauer choice.....but will see how things go).... :wink:

...I have been at the Airport, on Departure duty) The Arrivals flight will be delayed by 3 or more hours tonight, because of an Airline strike, here, in Croatia...Damn them! Why do they have to strike now, just when the season is starting, and we exist on Tourism...They could of even done it in March..before the season got rolling!! :cry: Thyings are not easy here, as it is. Hope it's over soon, or we will start losing valued customers!! Glad we solved that scarf mystery! I was going crazy yesterday! I know I had that scarf years ago. ...I thought that too...but just had a thought...perhaps Pierre Cardin. Going to look at designer scarves now, on google. I even thought it could have been an airline Co. scarf....but we will solve it soon...I Hope!! :wink: I have looked at Chanel....but it must have the C logo on it..or Chanel written on it, as it looks similar with the gold chain design...it's not Cardin...or Dior either. I have to go on duty now, so can't search anymore...but hopefully someone will remember it, and let us know....
