Bvlgari Jasmin Noir: EDP or EDT

...Dalmajen:EDP...because it is longer lasting! As I have a problem with longevity, I always purchase the E d P versions. I love my Jasmin Noir, but it is rather soft. There is a sillage, but it's rather soft and light. I would definitely go for the EDP. :wink:Thank you, Dalmajen. Sounds like edp is the way to go. :)

..."Jasmin Noir"Which do you prefer and WHY, please?

light florientals, please?

...Cryptic:My go-to light oriental in warm weather is "Malabah" but it has a prominent tea note, just in case that's not your thing. If you happen to have a T.J. Maxx nearby, they sometimes have a Penhaligon's or two in stock and you can pick them up for dirt cheap. :DThank you, C, for responding to my post! :D Malabah sounds nice, but it does seem to have a ton of citrus, which I don't really care for.Can you think of anything without citrus?

light florientals, please?

...It's super hot and dry here today and I chose to wear Beige, because none of my favorites appealed to me in the slightest this morning when it was 7:30 and already 85 degrees outside (30 celsius).Beige is nice, but it isn't really me at its core. There is an incredibly smooth citrus-like accord in Beige that is beautiful, but just doesn't spell love for ol' Dulce.I desperately need a light floriental that would be suitable for warm weather. Preferably with NO CITRUS, or just some barely detectable citrus, please.I would SO appreciate your suggestions!Oh, and extra points if LuckyScent carries it. I'm putting together a samples order and I just need to add one or two more.

Do you dare to don "Exceptional"?

...Haha! Yeah, they didn't leave well enough alone, did they. :)The thing is, if you name a fragrance Frickin Awesome, it darn well better be, right? Overstatements can backfire.

Wanted : herbal elixir

...AVEDA maybe? As I applied my Aveda body lotion before bed, I vaguely remembered that they also make fragrance, and indeed they do. Considering how aromatherapeutic the brand is in general, I wonder if one of their fragrances might float your boat.I've stayed stocked up on their body products via Christmas presents, so I rarely step foot in an Aveda shop, but even when I have, I didn't test or even notice the fragrances, so unfortunately I can't comment on them. But maybe someone else can?

Parfumo Received Written Warning

...Sorceress:So if I understand this correctly: Someone else says they own the copyright to "S". The person who is currently marketing "S" never copyrighted it, (their mistake), so are they now pulling their products from the shelves? Or re-naming them? Because if someone else says they own the name, why would someone want to continue marketing a product under a name that they don't own? It's just another instance of soulless, shameless internet profiteering, like when people gobble up a domain name and then sell it for a large sum to a party who can actually use it.Like that message to the bicycle thief, I hope the S brand takes the Chinese lady straight to Hell. Tee hee hee. Kidding (sort of).http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_most_expensive_domain_names

Jo Loves

...Lostforest:Jo Loves has shipped free samples to me (earlier this year) and I live in the US. I just emailed and asked nicely, and they sent Orange Tulle, Gardenia and Pomelo.Interesting. Perhaps you can share the name of your contact with Hayven in a PM?

Trying Harder

..."Sacrebleu Intense"Out of the gate this was just another jasmine/orange/carnation thing and I scrubbed it off and put my sample aside. Next! Then, this weekend, a couple hours before my shower, I tried it again, knowing I'd be washing it off soon. Much to my surprise, it morphed into something much more oriental and up my alley. (See Fanny's review for an accurate,IMO,and concise description.)

...How about "Chocolat Amere"? I sampled it years ago and remember liking it.I need to sample Borneo too.Have you ever tried "Neonatura Cocon"? I don't recall it being very sweet.

Canvas & Concrete

...Did they mention the ingredients anywhere? I couldn't find them. That would be the first thing I'd want to know before even considering it.

Trying Harder

...Omni,Answer to your original post, second question: I find LB and Mitsouko very similar. I think they each don't appeal to me for the same reason. First question: Yes! I tried harder to find nirvana in Tauer's dry desert woody air like so many others have, but I simply could not. As it develops and settles on my skin I find myself trying to will it to go in another direction, like it's a bowling ball slowly heading for gutter.

Comments on perfumes: compliments and insults

...Omni:Dulcemio, I was misted in Eau de Vegas, Eau de Nicotine and Eau de Bourbon. Was fun to people watch. Perfume smelt quite cloying in the June heat, testing was a challenge. I mostly wore Eau du Sud and Kelly Caleche EDT but nobody commented favourably or unfavourably because they burn off so quicklyOh the dessert, the lovely, oven-like dessert. You mean you don't love it, Omni, when the air you breath sucks the moisture out of every single thing it comes in contact with? Where body lotion is a joke? And where perfume is vaporized within minutes? "But it's a dry heat!" they say. Yeah? Well, it's tooooo friggin' dry!

Comments on perfumes: compliments and insults

...Flavorite:Sadly, my most common and least interesting scents... 1. Philosophy's "Amazing Grace", 2.Osmo Il Profumo- "Musc Bleu" and 3. Lollia- "At Last"- everyone is onto "Fresh" these days! ... My KM_- "Peau de Peche" and Bruno Acampora "Musc" are crying...We shouldn't feel sad, Flavorite, we should feel smug that our palettes are more refined than theirs. Bless their hearts.

Comments on perfumes: compliments and insults

...Omni:Went to Vegas last year, my first time, walked past the Mirage and found that the spray mists that disperse water as humidifiers from the building's frontage are scented in 'Mirage' fragrance. Thought that was pretty coolSo, essentially you got misted with some Eau de Vegas! :D

Comments on perfumes: compliments and insults

...Omni:Dulcemio:Yesterday when I wore "Volutes" one of my work friends said I smelled like the lobby of the nice hotel that's across the street from our office. At first I was a little put off, but then I realized that the lobby in question smells fabulous.Yes, this is the feature of Apres L'Ondee that I am constantly amazed by. For a few years we owned an Arts and Crafts house, same vintage as the perfume and that is what it smelt like, nostalgia in a bottle, those wonderful scent memories, or are they inherited memories…Ahh, I love Craftsman houses, as we call them out here, and have lived in a few over the years. So charming and cozy. The air in the fragrant hotel lobby is aromatized with some sort of creamy, floral, heavenly thing. It's really the best possible room freshener I can imagine.

rose orientals, please!

...Yes, Grey, "Noir de Noir" has a strong presence, doesn't it!However, it might be a little too smooth and rounded (too Tom Fordy?) to meet my criteria at the moment. I am dreaming of a luscious rose couched in some oriental richness, earthy, spicy, a tad sweet and a little rough around the edges.
