Weekly Scent Discussion #6: Labels of Men vs Woman and you
by Sleuth | Perfumes & Brands
...Insense:May I also add that one of my preferred perfumes is Mugler's Angel? And that I have it instead of A-Men? Angel is the best feminine for men. I just said it.hahah, great :) Do you get many comments?

Weekly Scent Discussion #6: Labels of Men vs Woman and you
by Sleuth | Perfumes & Brands
...This is always a nice topic as it pops up every now and then :)I think Passion for Men fits right in with the women's trend of dark orientals. So: Good choice! A line I don't cross is: concentrated jasmine, pink 'Paris' rose (though no problem with dark rose), pink suger bombs. I prefer to avoid tuberose almost always.Things I do consider for myself: ylang (challenging but I love the flower).I like lily of the valley but it's difficult to find that's right for me - yes I think I'm a flower guy lol. Some women's perfumes are fine for guys but I prefer to avoid them because they're too well known (Dior Midnight Poison)

Iso E Super: inspired invention or chemical horror?
...Nice topic, Greysolon.I'm not really pro or anti. Generally speaking I like it when perfumers have a big palette of ingredients to work with. That's how I see Iso E Super and also how I see calone: They have a function and can lead to some good creations. I wear TDH but I'm not crazy about it anymore. But it's undeniable that it has good longevity thanks to Iso E Super. I also smelled "Molecule 01", which consists purely of Iso E Super. On the one hand it's impressive that the 1 molecule can have several different scent-aspects at the same time. But on the downside, it made me sneeze. It's also one of those molecules that stays in my nose for hours, whether you want it or not. So - not a fan, not a hater either. Now I'm really curious what cologne your acquaintance uses! Maybe a synthetic oud? On the other hand the cages of rodents really smell sour, so I hope he changes to something with more calone :)

Particles inside the perfume?

...sleuth said, it can mean different things. Sometimes particulates can form over time. If the scent still smells like it should I wouldn't be concerned...

Particles inside the perfume?
by Sleuth | Perfume Discussions
...I'm no expert, but I'll tell you what I know. Well, it can mean different things.Sometimes it's normal, because perfume has all sorts of chemicals at high concentrations. I had that with "Dune pour Homme". So it's normal for that one and I've seen it with other perfumes too. Sometimes the threads and colours go away of you move the bottle gently. But personally I don't care, I don't shake my bottles! :)Other times it can mean that your fragrance has deteriorated, it's gone bad. How old is your bottle? I had one bottle from 1990 and someone put it in the window sill. Wrong decision! It was ruined and it smelled sour.. I couldn't see the colour but I expect that it had changed too. -- But also new fragrance can go bad, for example if you expose it to heat or sunlight. I had a tester vial of "Encounter" and I cleaned it with warm water. Immediately the colour changed. So if you expose your fragrance to heat or sunlight, it can go bad. With threads sometimes.But... If there's only a little bit of threads and it still smells good, then No Problem. :)
