Coffee notes in perfume

...Tar:This is a special treat: Ambre Nue, since it has coffee scent, if you spray once, wait 1-2 hours, and spray again, then it is a real, earthy black cofee.Versilia Vintage - Ambra Mediterranea - this is for my nose totally a Pocket Coffee from Ferrero :DThanks! I have a sample of "Ambre Nue" somewhere, unfortunately just splash :/ I will need to check out Ambra Mediterranea too.Hadrien:Eau de navigateur is my favourite coffee. Green and woody with some coffee beans.L'Artisan? Another one to my list :)A short breakdown of the purported coffees I have tried since starting this thread:Cacharel "Noa" is cute but so clean it didn't really do anything for me, but I have a mini for when the moment calls for that kind of thing. PG "Cozé No.02" was really dense and to my nose it had the texture of a burp, plus there really is a cannabis note in it which I do not fancy. Plenty of stuff I have yet to peruse though! Thanks all for your recommendations :)

Spring is in the air!

...Oh yes, we're feeling it even up above the polar circle! I went through a nasty flu and doused up on "Moschino Funny!" as part of my get-well regimen. I am definitely craving lighter and subtler fragrances now that the temperatures are above zero again (unusually soon, but still), even though heavier perfumes like "La petite Robe noire Couture" are still a big hit with me. I have enjoyed Beyoncé "Rise", but while it is a bright and happy scent, it is not memorable and doesn't pack enough punch for me. I have not yet found my ideal spring fragrance, so I'm definitely using this thread for ideas!

Blind Buys - Are you a risk taker? Best + Worst Experiences

...I think all of my recent purchases have been blind buys -- pretty safe stuff, like Coty's "Muguet des Bois" and then the new Beyoncé scent & "Aqua Allegoria Flora Nymphea", both of which I can very likely pass on with ease should I not like them. I have been disappointed -- not dreadfully, but still -- a few times, but pleasantly surprised too. I tend to stick with well-known classics or mainstream favourites for blind buys.(edited: I have actually smelled "Emeraude" before)

The Guerlain Aqua Allegoria line: Your favourites?

...Ooohhh, I am curious about "Aqua Allegoria Limon Verde" too! Conceptually it sounds kind of similar to "Cédrat Enivrant" but there's no telling before smelling.Pipette noooooooo don't tease me with discontinued glory :')

The Guerlain Aqua Allegoria line: Your favourites?

...I have heard both good and bad about these releases, and they certainly seem to fall all across the board in my experience too. I still think the concept is adorable and am looking to expand my AA collection somewhat. So what are your favourites? Or least favourites? What do you think of the concept?Personally I think Pamplelune despite its enduring popularity is an awful sour affair while Lemon-Fresca is a nice, mild-mannered but wearable citrus appromixation - I also just ordered Flora Nymphea blind and hope for the best lol (but it was cheap...!).

Could you recommended a fresh, sexy floral?

...Oooh, I dare not recommend anything bc summers aren't very hot, much less humid, up here. But if you have the opportunity, check out some of the flankers to "Alien" - the whole range is, IMHO, incredibly sexy. I don't know about Sunessences, but "Alien Aqua Chic (2013)" is one of my favourite florals!

Aqua Allegoria Ylang & Vanille - Guerlain

Guerlain Ylang & Vanille

...Sad as it is, it makes total sense from the corporate point of view. If a formula sells well, upcycle it into a more high-end perfume you can charge an arm and a leg for -> profit.

do you know this bottle?

...It definitely looks like a stand-alone bottle rather than a specific brand's design for a specific fragrance to me. It's certainly unique with the elephants and everything, such a shame there wasn't any info on what perfume it contains!

Is it time to stock up?

Re: Is it time to stock up?
...MiaVonTrost:Dalmajen:I would have to find out just which perfumes of mine actually fall under these regulations. I hope Tauer fragrances aren't included in this.I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but Tauer fragrances will be affected. Don't shot the messenger. If you prefer your perfumes to include more than a mere trace of rose or jasmine, geranium, cinnamon, coumarin, citruses ... you'd better be prepared to say farewell. I compiled a list of ingredients that are to be restricted or banned. You can find it here.Thank you Mia, those are some of my favourites

Marketing Mistakes - arbitrary target group?

...rather deeply, and so we find it hard to accept that somebody else might have a different approach or even an opposing opinion. Dulcemio, MRoth and Sweetgrass, as far as I have understood what has been said so far I very much doubt that you are really worlds apart from each other. I don't really see a...

Marketing Mistakes - arbitrary target group?

...Dulcemio:OMG, this has reached a level of absurdity I could not have imagined. "Inherently white supremacist"??? Are you out of your mind???Yes my dear that IS definitely an opinion and if my pointing that out compels you to take your toys and go home, I guess you do what you gotta do.I am not actually out of my mind -- even Wikipedia knows something on the subject. Here, a link! Your behaviour is WAY out of order and you need to calm down & maybe think what did you even expect bringing your reductive views on gender into this topic. And no, I am actually not going to "take my toys and go home". You, on the other hand, can take your opinion on other people's minds and bodies somewhere else.

Marketing Mistakes - arbitrary target group?

...Oh man there's nothing like some casual transmisogyny ja heterosupremacy to spice up a perfectly good thread on how perfume houses assign gender to their products. And by spice up I mean turn to shit.A short PSA:- People identifying outside of the binary are not "confused".- The gender binary is inherently white supremacist and has been imposed to erase non-binary gender identities across the globe through colonization and genocide. (Side note: If you are a white resident in the former or current Euro colonies, this means you are directly implicit in this ongoing erasure.)- Erasure and "misapprehension" as aeo called it has real-life consequences for trans and non-binary people, up to and including extremely high murder rates, unemployment, homelessness. So do not pretend this is just a matter of opinion. By dismissing non-binary identities as make-believe or confusion the people living those identities are discarded into the "lesser" pile and treated as sub-human as a consequence. Do NOT come and claim it's just an opinion.- Communities recognizing more than one gender without a binary structure or obsession with heterosexuality have been surviving and reproducing just fine for millennia. White Westerners seem to have trouble with birth rates, though. Funny, that.If this is how these topics are handled here, I can do just fine somewhere else.

Chanel Les Exclusifs?

...Fcasimiro:...The other that draws my interest is Bois des Iles. I haven't given my EDT sample a full wearing but I've read it is similar to Egoiste which I love in its dry down. I've read the pure parfum version of Bois des Iles is the ultimate of the three. ...I find "Bois des Îles" pretty different from "Égoïste", especially up top. There is something vintage-like, dark and viscous about BdÎ, while ÉgoÏste is lighter, drier and spicier. BdÎ seems to be marked down as a feminine frag on Parfumo, but wouldn't smell off on a man while Égoïste is more markedly a masculine fragrance. IMHO those two are clearly different perfumes, but noses do differ greatly :)

Perfumes Left Behind Or Not?

...I would pick the ones I was actually using (2 bottles at most) + 3 more for rotation (season/occasion) if at all I could. Some treasured minis. I would want to have the comfort of perfume if I was ever faced with such an extreme situation for any reason.Lmao I shouldn't think abt eventualities like this, it's not good for my fragile psychological balance :D
