...I will explain. It is not about the perfume aspect it is the real cold bottles of perfume. I ordered some and, brother, it is deadly cold in my area, something like 4F for a high in the Midwest of US and when I got my bottles they were cold and even after an hour, when I tried the perfume it seemed scentless. Has anybody had such a happenning?

Lindenflower

...I agree with Flavorite about Library of Flowers-Tilleul. Great linden scent, good longevity and sillage. The line includes soap and bath oil as well.

Lasting power, your thoughts
by Tessa | Perfumes & Brands
...Dali is good and wearable.I am also curious about Andy Tauer's Explorer though I am always shocked by his scents. I own Reverie au jardin, Lys du desert-from the Centennials-and Loretta from the Tableaux ...All his scents are meditative ones. While Reverie, with its lavender, is something you can wear fearlessly, the Lys is so dense and impressive that it scares me. At least for a while. It is as if you are in the outer space in the black void and you cannot have a breath of air and instead of beeing super light from the lack of gravity you have the impression of being rooted to the ground, motionless. It is only from time to time that I wear them. Loretta is an orange perfume. A strong one .

Which Fragrance Evokes the Most Memories for You and Why?

...Diorella that my mother used to wear and Eden that I purchased on a whim while being at the Le Bourget airshow. I guess it was in 1993. I still love it.

Comments on perfumes: compliments and insults
by Tessa | Perfumes & Brands
...In France one does not ask "what perfume is this?" maybe because you must be very learned in this respect. Yet, I am asking because it is not in my nature to pretend knowing everything.A few times, only, I have been asked about the perfume I was wearing and they were all well intended questions and after my answering them there was that "wow, I have to get it!".But listen to this! I have just purchased one of Tauer's Centennials and my husband , who loves all my perfumes said: Well, since we do not go too much to church it seems that the church came to us!

What's in a fragrance name?
by Tessa | Perfumes & Brands
...How much the name of a perfume calls for attention? How close is the name related to the harmony of the scent? How deceiving could the name be?I am not talking about leathers (cuir) or tabaccos or soliflore. Their names are straight as an arrow. No confusion there. But what about "Putain des Palaces", Angelique Sous la Pluie etc. You can also think about some ones. What determines the name of a perfume?

What Scents Have You Pulled Out For Fall's Cooler Weather?
by Tessa | Perfumes & Brands
...Just thinking about autum/winter warmer scents ( Because I am wearing perfumes for the state of mind and the color they can create for my day) I would start the list with Iris de Nuit by Heeley, Cuir Pleine Fleure by the same Heeley, Shalimar, L'Heure Bleue et Mitsouko, the Oyedo by Diptique and a less known scent Linden from the Library of Perfumes. They are all warm and "heavy" and of a deep yellow/rusty/violet color. At least this is how I see them.

Lasting power, your thoughts
by Tessa | Perfumes & Brands
...Lately a great number of high end perfumes suffer from this "disappearance act". Reformulation? No one knows.Tauer, as mentionned, has a good longevity. Heeley perfumes, all of them, are great in this respect and I had a surprise with Dali by Dali and Origan by Coty, the vintage eau de toilette.
