Fresco for Men is an almost dead ringer for Creed's Aventus
by Pipette | Perfumes & Brands
Batch numbers
...And then you don't have to worry about Creed batch numbers. Those indicate various batches and Creed has the excuse that not all batches are alike. Go figure.

You can always use another handbag ?

...Have a good look at the website link at the end of this post. They pretend to be authentic and want to prove it in so many ways. But, a give-away are the much-too-low prices and the faulty or clumsy English on the website.I suspect that these are "Made in China" like so many fakes that are being walked around right here in Flushing, New York / U.S.A.It just bugs me how they get away with it.http://www.priceslocker.com/l/authentic.html

Beauty
...In a larger sense PARFUMO deals with beauty. Perfumes are an art form. Music is an art form. Paintings are an art form. Poems are an art form. What I am trying to say is that among us perfume lovers are people with a certain sensitivity and appreciation for fine things. With a delicate understanding of animals that share our world.

OK, explain this ...
...http://www.parfumo.com/Users/Florblanca/PerfumePicture/14741 On the afternoon that I spent hours rating, this photo would have gotten 100% from me.A. The bottle is well photographed and all fine print is showing.B. The package is well photographed and all fine print is showing.C. The background is creatively staged.I admit that rating photos objectively is not an easy task.

Passion
...DutchSniffer:Maybe do away with the points and go with an emoticon system , like 'sleeping beauty' for non-active members and versus 'caught red-handed' for people that should not spend every living hour of the day on Parfumo (or other sites) yet do. What is wrong with spending many wonderful hours on websites that feed your passion ?Does a pianist practice and later give concerts ?Does an athlete practice and later compete in the Olympics ?Does a writer write, toss, re-write, submit manuscript, get rejected and finally get published ? I do the daily chores super fast to get back to the screen.

The math is correct, but ...
...Sherapop:Cincy:I don't understand this... If I only rate pictures and write no reviews. I get :?: :?: :?: amount of points. If you (for example) write reviews and rate pictures would you not get more points than I?Someone please answer this. Or am I stupid. :oops:I can affirm that your mathematical intuition is sound, Cincy! Here's a proof:If B > Aand A > 0thenA + B > AQED:lol: Mathematically, that is correct. But, we are here to relax. To escape from the harshness of the real world, to talk about our favorite subject: PerfumesIf points are gathered as a result, then this is a happenstance, not a condition.Did I phrase it right ?

How important are points ?
...It was mentioned several times by Apicius not to take the points too seriously.I can only say my personal view about this: I like to garner points. It is similar to school when efforts are rewarded with good grades. Then it is like an incentive.Or, when after many years of study, a doctor, lawyer etc. get a degree that he can hang on the wall to show for the effort. If PARFUMO is just a social place and for some the matter of how many points they gather during their happy and friendly stay is unimportant, that is alright by me, too. After all, we are here to have fun. Points, fine. Lots of points, fine. Just a few points, fine too.

There is a history before my blog
...When I did my blog, I must have stepped into a nest of angry wasps for the furor it created. So I did not start what was already there. Are we not free to bring up topics that are current ?I have meanwhile stopped rating the photos altogether. Too many points are easily gathered and then it is not fair to all those who earn points with writing reviews, or handing in a new scent, or otherwise work harder at building Parfumo to what it is.

...It just amazes me how people air out grievances they have via the platform of dogs or cats. If it is not reviews and how they should be awarded with pokals, or photos and how they should be staged and rated, then the fuss travels over the issue of dogs and cats.Parfumo does not discuss politics or religion, that would be even more controversial. But perfume ? Cats ? Dogs ?Peace, please.

...Sherapop:By the way, Apicius, on an unrelated note:I've been thinking about posting a text at the salon de parfum called "Are Perfumistas Like Porn Addicts?"I was afraid that I might offend someone, but now that you've broken the ice, I might be able to muster up the confidence to do it! Of course, by posting the word 'porn' at my blog, my lascivious visitors will skyrocket. I already have scores of people visiting in search of "group orgy" and "prostitutes". Imagine what the naked word 'porn' would do for my stats! Perhaps before posting the article I should first monetize my blog with a link to a sex toys shop. When you run a blog, you are exposed already. Probably, over the years, you have "seen it all". Perhaps you can write such an article but tone down the words that - by default - create "red flags" in the computer/internet world, and then the sexy responses don't come in hoards pursuing you when you only wanted to make a statement or peacefully discuss an issue. You never know who is lurking out there, ready to pounce on sexy content.

Miniatures: do they smell as good as the larger bottles?
by Pipette | Perfume Discussions
There is no generalization, it probably varies.
...Fortunately I have only had good luck with minis. They smelled exactly the same. However, I shopped them via www.shopping.yahoo.comand then looked for the best deal and a reliable seller.Your concerns that some tiny bottles may been decorative objects and could be expired, is warranted. But, you have no way of knowing by looking at the photo.

Nice photos
...The articles are usually accompanied with nice - sometimes historical - photos. The reading material is quite interesting. As far as raffles, I find it too inconvenient to watch for the Winners, because if you don't show ... "your perfume just evaporates".One of the many sites I visit, but not daily.

How did you hear about Parfumo?
by Pipette | Parfumo Community
Actually, I don't remember
...What is happening though is that not many people notice www.parfumo.com nor the excellent reviews that are published here. The website gets lost in the depths of a Google.com search. Yesterday, I asked about that on the German site, www.parfumo.de, concerning a strong review of Decennial - Lys du Desert. Apicius and DonVanVliet suggested the German Google, www.google.de and sure enough, what I was looking for showed up on the first page. http://www.google.de/#hl=de&gs_rn=1&gs_ri=hp&cp=20&gs_id=2b&xhr=t&q=Lys+du+Desert+Tauer&pf=p&tbo=d&sclient=psy-ab&oq=Lys+du+Desert+Tauer+&gs_l=&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.&bvm=bv.1355534169,d.dmQ&fp=122c3497a49728c4&bpcl=40096503&biw=1360&bih=671 Click on to the last (seventh) picture of the bottle. Scroll down further to ninth place. Thus, as visibility depends on many hits (visits), the Administrators suggested to mention Parfumo.net with a link when owners of a private blogsite have an occasion to write about the happenings in the perfume world and Parfumo. Here is the whole conversation (in German): http://www.parfumo.de/forum/viewtopic.php?p=188243#188243
