The Parfumo Travel Guide!

...PBullFriend:Did you ever go to the Thymes Warehouse Sale in the fall? Sadly for us/good for them, they stopped holding those a couple of years ago. Their inventory control has improved to where they don't have enough overstock to hold a sale any more.Coincidentally, an ad came up for Thymes while I was over at Fragrantica, and I clicked on it and found ... a sale! It's not huge, but they have some candles and other stuff at more than half off... :)

A question for L'Artisan lovers.
by Sherapop | Perfumes & Brands
...My memory of these two is that "Timbuktu" is like sweaty incense, while "Dzongkha" has a very clear leather note along with the incense, and is also more spicy. I have a purse spray of Timbuktu, but I'll see if I can find the remnants of a Dzongkha sample vial so that I can do a side-by-side...

...Dulcemio:And the poor things are bad at crossing the street, lots of possum carcasses on the road. My dad told me that opposums are at the extreme lowest end of the mammal continuum as regards intelligence, and it seems true: they don't process danger very well... You cannot even frighten them away! Their attitude is basically: "Whatever". Or perhaps: "Doh."

...WolfM:We have just such bold raccoons in our neighborhood. One year I was leaving a bowl of food out on the back deck for a couple of feral cats, and one by one the animals began to appear as though preparing to board Noah's arc. It literally turned into quite the zoo! The journey must have been quite a feat for some of the more portly visitors, as we're up on the third floor! First the cats came, of course, the intended recipients of the food. Then the raccoons, and then, the best of all: the opossums (opossa?)! I had never seen one before and tried to describe it to my little sister. Here was her response: "It's a rat! It's a rat!" My reply: "It's too big to be a rat!"Her rejoinder: "Haven't you ever taken the subway in New York City?" :P

...Dulcemio:Dlane1953:Did someone mention a small bird around here?I want in on that.Hey D&D: Did you happen to read that report a while back on a study of our feline friends' hunting behavior in the U.K.? They attached little video cameras to see how much hunting kitties do. The researchers concluded that many are serial killers!!!!

...Dulcemio:Cryptic:Dulcemio:...real ice cream.makes me bloat like a balloon (I don't eat it). Me neither. #lactose intolerantMeant to do this earlier. Have you ever tried the "Purely Decadent" line of So Delicious non-dairy ice creams? I get them at Whole Foods (is Whole Foods national?)I have another suggestion: make homemade ice cream using coconut milk. It is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO delicious. I did this for about a year and my cholesterol plummeted.I also have milk issues (if I eat a bowl of cereal with real milk, I fall asleep!), but somehow I have no problem eating ice cream or cheese.

...Cincy:$1.99. Wow! Maybe they are going to discontinue that flavor, or is it all flavors? It's all flavors--and it's totally crazy! I wonder whether the milk is all from hormone-infused cows? Honestly, it makes no sense. I used to make my own ice cream, but now there's no point because even high-end brands are less expensive to buy than the ingredients needed to make a good batch.

...ChapeauClack:(while some of you have emergency ice cream runs, I have... well... you know).I'm glad that you mentioned ice cream, because I have been wrangling with a new ice cream conspiracy theory based on the ridiculous sale prices of Breyers, Starbucks, Ciao Bella, Ben & Jerry's, and Edy's. Every single week for something like two months, subsets of the above brands have been on sale at a big chain grocery store nearby for, gasp: $1.99!How can this be? What are they doing to cows? Who has decided that I should gain weight? What is going on here???????????????????????????? :?: :x
