Guess that scent. A game:
by Perfumecrazy | Parfumo Community
...Oh crud. Lol. Is that the game? If you win, you need to formulate some clues for the next one? I should probably have read some of the posts before I jumped in... Will have to get back to you on this.

...Perfumecrazy:Is it Levona by The Bible Fragrance?"Levona" is correct Perfumecrazy, well done! Levona is the Hebrew word for frankincense.MicallefLuv1, I am so sorry - you were so close, you got the brand in the... to do with the above mentioned 'The Bible' TV series - perhaps to lure a few devotees of the show who wouldn't normally wear these scents. Who knows.Perfumecrazy, we look forward to guessing your clues...

Suggest a warm oud/oriental/balsamic?
by Perfumecrazy | Perfume Recommendations
...That kills me every time. I was planning to buy a bottle from Lucky Scent just yesterday. Thought it was a bargain at $45... until I found out postage was $40. Still thinking about it...Australia. Perfect one day, killing my perfume dreams the next.

...Hi Scarletting, thank you. Agnes Obel is just beautiful. The song is familiar - maybe from an advert or soundtrack? I see the comparison to Sia, for sure. I've been reading your posts here and I'm learning about some musicians I hadn't heard of before, so -thank you! Was relaxing to Glenn Gould this morning. Could feel it doing my addled brain some good.

...Perfumecrazy, you might enjoy the Agnes Obel? She's slightly more on the classical side but the mood is quite similar. www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjncyiuwwXQThis is...

Books: what are you reading right now?
by Perfumecrazy | Off Topic
...I've come to the series quite late but I am enjoying the 'No.1 Ladies Detective Agency' - charming characters plus some fascinating insight into life in modern day Africa. I will be reading 'Tears of the Giraffe' next. Perfect lazy day read for the Australian summertime.

U2
...I was a huge U2 fan and was lucky enough to meet them in Brisbane in September 1984. My friend and I turned up at the hotel in the morning (having ducked out of school and dumped our bags at the train station). We met Larry Mullen Jnr first - he was in tiny black shorts doing sit ups on the grass by the pool. He limped over to us - having cut his foot on glass in the pool the previous night - and said 'hi'. He was the most beautiful man I had ever met - up close he had perfect skin and clear turquoise blue eyes. Stunning. He was extremely friendly too. We wandered into town with him later and then had lunch in the hotel. The Edge was funny and sweet - his (then) wife was beautiful. When I kissed Larry he said 'you know he's married right?' Adam was off the planet - very funny. Bono was - disappointingly - a bit arrogant. Shame. But at the concert that night, they sent a staff member out to make sure we got prime position in the front row and waved 'hi' when they came out. Heaven for a couple of teenage fans.

What perfume have you bought recently?
by Perfumecrazy | Perfumes & Brands
...I just ordered a set of 13 samples from Parfum d'Empire. I visited their site on Sea's recommendation and she was right - it was incredibly quick, easy and cheap! The samples were 22 Euro (about $27 AUD). I can't wait to get them in the post!My next project is going to be Neil Morris... if anyone has any experiences with NM, I'd love to hear from you.

Say hello and/or introduce yourself (if you like)
by Perfumecrazy | Parfumo Community
...Dlane1953:Greetings, my name is Deborah (Deb) and I live in Eastern PA, USA with my now-retired husband, a Chemistry professor. (Having a chemist in the house makes for interesting conversations about modern perfumery). I find it impossible to be analytical about fragrance, however; it strikes the part of the brain that's beyond language and analysis and this is what makes it so powerful.Scent is like music in this sense; an ephemeral art that touches the deepest parts of our being. I am retired (early retirement: I've hated all of the jobs I've held over the last 10 years so giving up my job was a no-brainer to me)and enjoying a fine life with husband and pets. We travel as often as we can and are especially enamored of European destinations. I became interested in scent about 2 years ago and I'm learning more all the time. It's developed into quite a passion. Glad to find a friendly, well organized fragrance site like this one. Hi there Deb! My man is also a Scientist so I understand what you mean about perfume conversations (they get molecular haha - I now know the characteristics of top notes, heart notes and base notes, thanks to him). The up-side is that he is actually interested in perfume so I almost never bore him when I talk about them. We have found a level on which we can share this interest :) (I nod & grin and pretend to understand what he says and he pays me the same courtesy lol!). Like you, I've been interested in perfumes for about 2 years as well and it is amazing to look back and see how much I have learnt, and look forward to still learning every day. - PC

A special request to the new users
by Perfumecrazy | Parfumo Community
...Sherapop:A Facebook fragrance friend of mine recently remarked that one reason she still went to Fragrantic was because you could not search by notes for perfumes at Parfumo. I disabused her of that false belief, but I wonder if others are unaware that clicking on ADVANCED (to the right of the search box) leads you to a place where you can search perfumes by perfumer, notes, house, country, etc.?Needless to say: another splendid feature here at Parfumo! :) I'm very glad you mentioned this as I was going to ask if it was possible. Thank you.

No.1 hit single on your date of birth?

...This is a fun site. I checked the song for the day I was born and I didn't even recognise it! (I was too young haha). But the song for the day I turned 21 and got engaged (same day) was 'Don't Worry, Be Happy'. Nice :)
