Rose and Incense № 06 - Incense Rosé - Tauer Perfumes
...I own a sample of Le maroc pour elle. I remember it as a big floral, rose and white flowers with a heavy indolic note that put me off. I don't remember it as incensey, but it's a long time ago. Maybe I should revisit it...

Rose and Incense № 06 - Incense Rosé - Tauer Perfumes
...This is a genre I seem to like and which could have made up an extra category in the rose sniff fest. Spontaneously these three scents come to my mind as rose scents with noticeable incense note:Incense rose by TauerPortrait of a LadySiderisHow would you compare these scents, what are the similarities, what are the differences? Can you think of more scents that fit this category?

Robert Piguet reformulations V / Visa (Eau de Parfum) - Robert Piguet
by DieNase | Perfumes & Brands
...I just ordered the current Bandit and am so looking forward to me. Comparing to azuree it seems rather well behaved on my scent eating skin and not the beast it is said to be. But I have not compared with any other version of it. Will be my new dominatrix office scent, especially for appointments with my horrible boss hahaha

la fumee by Miller Harris La Fumée - Miller Harris
by DieNase | Perfumes & Brands
...Thanks! I may have the opportunity to try it in a few weeks on my Christmas leave in Germany. So I will be patient and not risk a blind buy although it sounds super tempting. Outdoorsy campfire and amber sounds delicious. Hope I will like it!

la fumee by Miller Harris La Fumée - Miller Harris
by DieNase | Perfumes & Brands
...Hi folks,I have been craving to try la fumee by Miller Harris for a while but haven't had the opportunity and may not have very soon. So I am currently seriously considering a blind buy. From the ingredients list (incense, cardamom, sandalwood, cumin, birchbtar) I should love it.As incense heavy frags I have full bottles of Avignon (which I hardly wear as it is too cold), a decant of Kyoto (which I hardly wear as I find it very masculine but sometimes spray it on my pillow) and a decant of Epic man (which I find enjoyable, maybe a bit too butch to wear in public). I do have a decant of Incense y Kamali, which I sniff from time t time but don't wear in public.I recently purchased Sahara Noir, which I adore. On my perfume eating skin it is not a projection beast, and used sparingly (1 spray) I can comfortably wear it to work.'Considering this and also the other scents in my collection, would you A) expect me to like or love la fumee B) see any redundancy with scents I already have?Although some discribe it as pure incense smell, I would expect the combination incense and birch tar as a quite novel rendition of incense. More campfire than church perhaps.By the way, I love Fleur de Sel by Miller Harris and thus have a good opinion on that house.

My Dilemma - stock up on frags for office wear?
by DieNase | Perfumes & Brands
...When I look at my ever growing collection of decants and bottles, I feel that my tastes are evolving from more ethereal and light (Ellena et al) to the heavier, sweeter, smokier, butcher, whatever - less wearable ones. If I want to classify my current collection into 'appropriate for office wear' and 'not appropriate for office wear' under the condition that my office is currently in China, where wearing perfume is not so popular yet, I end up with a lot of beloved scents seem not so appropriate for office use. And that's a problem indeed, as I spend most of my time in the office. During the week I normally don't go out. And if so, I won't change my scent but just keep wearing my SOTD.So, lot of my jewels rarely get the opportunity to be worn which is a real shame. I try to make more scents appropriate for office use by just applying very sparingly. But thats does not seem possible in all cases. For some heavy frags one spray is already strong.Should I buy lighter frags in future even though they may have less appeal? And I think my collection is pretty big already, I don't want to buy that many fragrances any more but rather use my current collection. Do any of you experience similar situation? How do you deal with it?

Comments on perfumes: compliments and insults
by DieNase | Perfumes & Brands
...I got a compliment by a female while wearing Villoresi Teint de Neige. She then asked if I was straight. I said yes and then she apologized stating that she didn't mean it that way. Her friend standing next to her said, "Yes you did!:dff115040a]Good one ;-)

Leather chypres
...Apicius:I think Knize Ten and Coriolan should rather be regarded as Fougères due to their herbal appealTo me Knize ten is not herbal. And my nose does not get the obligatory lavender. Lot of flowers instead. On my skin, strangely enough, knize ten is a sweet, flowery, feminine leather. I would see it in the cuir de russie family.

Leather chypres
...Well, I have spent some time testing the most important leather chypres now, and my nose seems really to start loving them. But I highly prefer the dry ones without flowers. At first my fav (out of the real chypres) was Bandit. I found it less flowery and powdery soapy than the others, but really leathery, bitter, dark. I was about to buy it but then blind bought Azuree. I have been wearing azuree at home several times and totally fallen for it. However have not worn it in public. It is really strong and quite butch. After this azuree period I got out my sample of Bandit and my perception of it totally changed: it seems more green, soapy and floral than before and less leathery. I think indeed it is quite feminine and well behaved compared to Azuree. And I sure will get a bottle in order to be able to wear a leather chypre to the office. But azuree rules for sure.

Which perfume will be your next buy ?
by DieNase | Perfumes & Brands
...Today, just ordered "gris clair" and "azuree". For no particular reason I suddenly crave bitter leather chypres and put "bandit" high on my wishlist. Maybe the domina feel reflects best the state of my mind

Convergence of tastes - East likes West and vice versa?

...I know a young couple from Saudi Arabia. They wear western stuff, he wears some aquatic that reminds me a bit of womanity. Have smelled this one on western men several times, seems to be a mainstream release.

...I recently applied a dab of Philosophy's "Amazing Grace" after a shower and right before bed and my husband- who rarely notices any of my fragrances, woke up out of sound sleep yelling that he thought perhaps one of the "Box Elder Bugs"/"stinkbugs" we saw earlier in our yard had gotten inside the bed room and gotten angry (they release a horrid smelling defense substance when attacked- like skunks, only more like herbal grassy garbage). Then I said smell my arm and he said "Yes, that's what I smell. You'd better get out right now and shower again!:0b9afb666b]Wow, that's strong. Hope you haven-t bought a full bottle of the juice.
