The "OG"
by Exciter76 | Perfume Discussions
...It might be easier to think of it as an idiom of sorts to come out of AAVE.  As someone who often "code switches" and occasionally uses AAVE, referring to something as OG makes sense, so long as it isn't taken literally.  We also say things like, "Don't throw out the baby with the bath water."  No one means that literally (I hope).

What is your most expensive bottle?
by Exciter76 | Perfume Discussions
...Guerlain Angelique Noire and Tableau de Parfums Loretta are tied for the most I've paid for a fragrance.  Guerlain Parure is priced the highest, though I picked it up in a thrift store for about $5.  The owner said it stunk and she was glad to get rid of it.

by Exciter76 | Perfumes & Brands
...Honestly, I'm too fickle to narrow it down, but I always come back to Fendi Fantasia, a floral green vanilla.

...@Oriane wow, that's a big ol' YIKES!  I know when I order off of eBay I'm rolling the proverbial dice.  It doesn't stop me but you're absolutely right.Speaking of rolling the proverbial dice, I ordered a used bottle of #Guerlain With Love a few months ago from eBay.  The price was good, and it's a less revered Guerlain I'd sampled long ago and enjoyed.  I'm looking forward to using it as the weather warms up.

The chocolate fragrance?
by Exciter76 | Perfume Recommendations
...I fell head over heels in love with Olympic Orchids' take on chocolate: California ChocolateCalifornia Chocolate and Seattle ChocolateSeattle Chocolate. Both are dark chocolates: California Chocolate has a nice, tart orange and Seattle Chocolate is a unique mix of inky dark green moss and dark chocolates. I crave both when I want a substantial chocolate fragrance.Amour de CacaoAmour de Cacao and SerendipitousSerendipitous are straightforward chocolate fragrances. If you want a very affordable option that satisfies, try Choco Musk (Perfume Oil)Choco Musk Perfume Oil.

Best masculine rose fragrance
by Exciter76 | Perfume Recommendations
...I'm wearing Encens Mythique / Encens Mythique d'OrientEncens Mythique. It feels very versatile and unisex. I get hints of a dry rose, subtle oud, and something akin to dryer sheets. It's oddly clean and beautifully filthy, simultaneously. I'd love to smell this on a man.

Selling on Souk - finished sale
by Exciter76 | Parfumo Community
...Hey!  Thank you guys for having this discussion regarding the souk.  I've tried swapping using the souk function but there weren't enough Americans to make a deal.  I'm learning with you guys! 😁

EXILED! The stories from Defected Fragrantican Members
by Exciter76 | Parfumo Community
...StaciaSadly, I find myself still checking Fragrantica more often than I'd like, simply because there are perfumes I'd like to know about that have zero reviews here. And every time I find myself popping back over there I'm like UGH because the pages take forever to load (especially if you're on mobile... it'll just break the page instead of loading). Too many ads and shit crammed onto their pages. I wish I never had to go back but like I said,  some perfumes just don't have any info here (yet). Welcome! It's a group effort that will take time but I'm certain Parfumo will surpass Fragrantica in number of reviews.  I remember when Fragrantica had few to no reviews.  I'm moving my reviews from there to here.  If there's anything you've tried or something you own that's worth reviewing, please do!  As an added bonus, there's no balloon system to erase your reviews AND there's an option to have direct interactions with people regarding your review.  It's such a nice feature.

The messy of Mainstream/Niche and the Retro of Vintage frags
by Exciter76 | Perfume Discussions
...Also, @ChillScent, your observations would be best suited in a blog post.  You bring up many good points, but I don't know if you are looking to start a conversation or simply make a statement.

The messy of Mainstream/Niche and the Retro of Vintage frags
by Exciter76 | Perfume Discussions
...OmnipotatoI think what you call "messy" is a good problem to have. I'd rather have too many perfumes to choose from than too few. I'd much rather be a perfume hobbyist now than, for example, in the 70s or 80s, when the internet didn't exist and the entire universe of fragrances to choose from was restricted to what they had in stock at your local department store. We are IN the golden age of perfumery. This is such a great statement.  I am so glad I'm a perfume enthusiast now, where any type of perfume is at my fingertips.  I remember a time when all that was available was whatever was being sold locally.  If I was lucky, a friend or family member would bring a perfume souvenir back from their travels, but that was rare.
