...Coming from a German speaking city (Vienna), I grew up with the smell of 4711. A bottle of it was always around in my grandparents home. Maybe that's the reason, why my parents, and after them I, somehow tried to avoid it. However, recently I've learned to appreciate classic colognes and even though not strictly a cologne/EdC, my current favorite would be Eau Sauvage by Dior.

...Kenzo pour homme. Once my signature scent, now I can barely stand it. Since otherwise my taste developed but never fundamentally changed, I attribute half of this effect to oversaturation, especially since, for some time, a work colleague of mine was also (over)using it... I still consider it a classic in its class however.

...Love it, my favorite fresh fragrance and my favorite creed so far. Interestingly, longevity is no issue on my skin, it usually lasts a full working day (8-9 hours). It's appropriately named, too, with its strangely appealing metallic aspect giving the scent some character. It's one of the very few fragrances that I'm finding myself actually buying again time after time.
